Danielle Petterson is a mechanical engineer by trade but an entrepreneur at heart. Originally from central Florida, Danielle grew up often traveling to Tampa on holidays and long weekends to visit her grandmother who was an immigrant from Georgetown, Guyana (formerly British Guiana). Arriving at Grandma’s house was always met with tight hugs, kisses, and “Are you hungry?” followed by one of 3 staples: chicken and rice, chicken curry, or a grilled cheese sandwich. Danielle’s grandmother was her biggest role model and a bright light in her life.

Danielle was only 14 when her grandmother passed away which was hard for her of course, but it also encouraged her to grow up and do the things that would have made her grandmother proud. This is the reason why Danielle decided to dedicate her gin brand to her grandmother with its namesake. To Danielle, gin is a classic, elegant spirit that makes her feel luxurious and joyful. It’s no coincidence that these were all of the qualities her grandmother had. With her gin, Danielle wants to share the love and joy her grandmother brought her with the world and create a legacy for her family.

After a year and a half of learning, designing, distilling, tasting, and perfecting, Danielle has grown SAJ Gin into something that she thinks you will really enjoy.
